June is the start of summer, which is filled with new faces and some recognizable ones. As we hit the midway point of the year, and life keeps rapidly evolving, music knows how to comfort us. From going to place to place, to studying like there’s no tomorrow, to enjoying a life by going to a few shows. The past six months have been the most hectic months of my entire life. Here is our monthly playlist that reflects some of those emotions. Listen here x.

Steer The Canyon // Big Black Delta

A mixture of electronic and rock influences is Big Black Delta. “Steer The Canyon” is second song off, Tragame Tierra. This album brings such good vibes. I recently had the chance of seeing Big Black Delta live and when this song was played all I did was dance and bob my head.

Feel It Too // Oscar

Off of Oscar’s debut album, Cut and Paste, “Feel It Too” is a tune. From the moment the song starts, a feeling of relaxation comes over you. The guitar chords and tambourine give off such a summer vibe.

How Great // Chance The Rapper Featuring Jay Electronic & My cousin Nicole

Chance The Rapper delivers an electrifying mixtape, Coloring Book that makes listeners embark on a whole new idea of Gospel. Whether you believe in a higher power or not, “How Great” embodies a chilling effect on how surroundings inspire music. The first three minutes of the song is just pure choir signing, but then chance comes in takes over.

Good Grief // Bastille

2016 is the year of comebacks. From The Strokes to Two Door Cinema Club, and now Bastille. “Good Grief” sounds like a Bastille but there’s more pop influences. This song is a perfect way to start summer since a rush of happiness is what I automatically thought on the first listen. Their sophomore album will be called, Wild World.

Days Are Gone // HAIM

This song is my embodies current feeling. In life there are a bunch of chapter that will open and closing. Closing a chapter is one of the hardest things you’ll do, but if you were struggling and mad it out, then the days are truly gone. HAIM’s feel good tune, “Days Are Gone” can be played out in the sun while you’re off exploring the world and being stress free.

It’s You (cover) // BØRNS

BØRNS can really do nothing wrong. A cover of Zayn Malik’s song, “It’s You” proves to be pure perfection. His high falsettos proves that he has one of the best voices in the music world. People keep falling in love with BØRNS, as he plays the piano and belts out all emotions on this cover.

Are We Ready? (Wreck) // Two Door Cinema Club

What’s a summer playlist without Two Door Cinema Club? This band released their single “Are We Ready? (Wreck)” a couple days ago to show off what they’ve been working on. The children’s choir fits perfectly with the electronic beats. The timing i excellent. The song says it all, “Are we ready? Hold it steady.” Bring on that third album.

OBLIVIUS // The Strokes

Ladies and gentlemen The Strokes are back, and they’re better than ever. The moment I heard “OBLIVIUS” I fell in love with this band all over again. The guitar chords on this song are so infectious. Leader singer, Julian Casablancas proves that his voice can hit all ranges and it adds a special tough to this song. “OBLIVIUS” is the second song off the band’s latest EP, Future Present Past.

BOSS // Disclosure

The brothers of Disclosure recent releases an EP called, Moog For Love. “BOSS” is the obvious stand out single off the EP. A classic electronic tune to get you into summer. Disclosure adds upbeat synths over a auto tuned voices. The beats in  “BOSS” gets your blood pumping.
